MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is an increasingly popular skin renewal technique to restore a healthy, youthful appearance to your skin. It plumps the skin instantly and safely stimulates collagen production, making the skin smoother, healthier and brighter. It’s both non‐surgical and minimally invasive. We recommend this treatment for acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles and for restoring facial radiance.

Microneedling usually has a downtime of at least one week. Aftercare is particularly important to minimise side effects (typically reddening and flaking) and optimise results. Your therapist will advise you how to take care of your skin after treatment.

A quick patch test is required at least 24 hours before treatment to ensure there is no allergic reaction to our numbing cream.

MICRONEEDLING FAQS

We recommend that all new clients start with a minimum of 6 sessions, at 3-4 week intervals, if they are concerned about ageing, scarring or hyperpigmentation. If your concerns are more related to skin texture and general skin health then a course of 3 sessions may be sufficient. Your therapist can provide you with advice.

Visible signs of skin rejuvenation are usually seen after just 5‐6 weeks following the treatment and continue to improve for up to a year or more. Optimum results are usually achieved through 6 sessions at 3‐4 week intervals.

Notable areas that can be improved with microneedling include restored skin firmness, reduced wrinkles, lines, folds and crow's feet, improved skin texture, reduced scars caused by chickenpox and acne, reduced pigmentation marks.

You usually see some improvement in the first few days but it will usually take a few weeks before you really see optimal results. The outer layer of the skin repairs quite quickly (within a few days), but the lower layers of the skin continue to repair and regenerate collagen for several weeks after treatment.

Immediately after the treatment you will probably see redness and slight swelling. This normally fades within 48 hours and is typically followed by skin flaking for 3‐5 days. Although everybody is different it is not uncommon to see other side effects such as breakouts or skin dryness.

Aftercare is very important after Microneedling in order to optimise results and your therapist will advise you on the Dos and Don’ts.

Our therapists apply a numbing cream to the target area before carrying out Microneedling to ensure any pain is minimal. A patch test needs to be carried out 24 hours before treatment to ensure there is no allergic reaction to the numbing cream.
